FINCLIMATE LAB

Research on climate and sustainable finance

FinClimate Lab is the research laboratory of the Department of Business and Quantitative Studies at the University of Naples Parthenope. We study how climate and environmental risks affect financial institutions, firms, investors and markets, and how finance can support the transition to a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy.

About FinClimate Lab

Established in 2024, FinClimate Lab brings together researchers working on climate risk, sustainable banking, asset management, ESG data and regulation, and social finance. The Lab develops empirical research and promotes dialogue with scholars, policymakers, supervisors, financial institutions and firms.

Our work examines how environmental and social factors influence financial decisions, risk measurement, financial stability and the allocation of capital. We also support conferences, workshops, collaborative research and the dissemination of evidence relevant to public policy and financial practice.

Our Activities

Article 2.1(c) of the Paris Agreement calls for finance flows to become consistent with low greenhouse gas emissions and climate-resilient development. FinClimate Lab studies the financial conditions, risks and institutional choices involved in this transition, including their effects on firms, financial intermediaries, investors and society.

The Lab combines academic research with engagement across the policy and professional communities. Its activities include research projects, scientific events, regulatory monitoring, data development and knowledge exchange.
