Technologies and Management for the Innovation of the Campania Oncology Network: The Contribution of the VIMASS Lab

The VIMASS Research Lab of the Department of Business and Quantitative Studies (DISAQ) at the University of Naples “Parthenope”, together with the “Fondazione G. Pascale” National Cancer Institute, organized the conference “Technologies, Management and Processes for the Innovation of the Campania Oncology Network: Next Steps”, held at Villa Doria d’Angri.

The event brought together institutional representatives, healthcare professionals, and researchers to explore the organizational challenges and innovation opportunities of the Campania Oncology Network (ROC), with particular emphasis on the role of technology and management in improving care pathways.

The conference opened with institutional remarks by Rector Prof. Antonio Garofalo, Prof. Francesca Perla, Director of DISAQ, and Prof. Francesco Schiavone, Scientific Director of the VIMASS Lab.

The evaluation and improvement of Diagnostic, Therapeutic and Care Pathways (PDTA) represent a key area of VIMASS research activities. Evidence highlighted by AGENAS (2021) and the Val.Pe.ROC project underscores the importance of effective network management in improving care pathway performance and patient satisfaction.

The conference fostered dialogue among stakeholders across the Campania healthcare ecosystem, providing a platform to share experiences, identify priorities, and discuss proposals for the future development of the Campania Oncology Network (ROC). The initiative reflects VIMASS’s commitment to fostering collaboration between universities and healthcare institutions, leveraging research to support organizational innovation and enhance the quality of oncology care.
