The Napoli Fintech Lab is a project of the Department of Business and Quantitative Studies at the University of Naples 'Parthenope.'

The Lab is part of the Excellence Project for the Ministry of University and Research for the five-year period 2023-2027.

The Methodology

A hybrid approach for innovative solutions.

Our design-driven methodology, along with our faculty and partner network, represents our greatest added value. Over the years, we have created an experimental Design Thinking approach. Our method employs scientific research to fuel the design process and establishes a development flow that merges Problem Solving with Innovation of Meaning. With project teams, we focus on mindset, hard and soft skills, and particularly on creativity. Additionally, we have launched a pilot program utilizing artificial intelligence tools to accelerate the design process.

An accelerator for your career

We implement open innovation projects by selecting the best young talents with backgrounds in economics and STEM, aiming to develop professionals with expertise in both financial and technological fields. Our training focuses on topics such as Financial Intermediation and Fintech, Data Analysis, Technological Innovation, Python Programming, Design Thinking, Digital Design, and Functional Analysis. Selected students work in multidisciplinary teams to develop real fintech solutions, addressing both design and technological-digital aspects, supported by a technology partner.

The latest Youth Partnership report has been released

The latest Youth Partnership report has been released. The Youth Partnership is a joint initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, entitled “Here to Stay? The Transitions of Rural Youth Before and After the COVID-19 Pandemic.”

The publication presents the findings of a study involving more than 8,000 young people from over 20 countries, providing an in-depth analysis of the life trajectories and transition patterns of youth living in rural areas before and after the COVID-19 crisis.

Among the contributors to the publication is Professor Antonella Rocca, a faculty member of DISAQ, who led the data collection and analytical work.

Presentation of the Results of the PRIN Project “Is Old Really Gold?”

On February 27, 2026, Villa Doria D’Angri will host a special event dedicated to exploring how the intersection of history, culture, and branding can generate value and strengthen the global positioning of Made in Italy.
The morning session will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the presentation of the results of the PRIN research project “Is Old Really Gold?”. The event will bring together academics, institutional representatives, and entrepreneurs for a roundtable discussion aimed at examining the role of heritage in consolidating identity and enhancing the international competitiveness of Made in Italy.
The afternoon programme will continue with The International Conference on Corporate and Brand Heritage. Starting at 2:00 p.m., the conference will feature a plenary session with internationally renowned keynote speakers, followed by parallel sessions dedicated to strategies, research findings, and case studies on corporate and cultural heritage.
The event will provide concrete tools for integrating tradition, innovation, and competitive development, grounded in the conviction that historical and cultural heritage constitutes a strategic asset for Italy—not only in terms of identity and collective memory, but also as a driver of competitiveness for companies and local territories.

Conference “Statistical Models for the Economic Transition: The New Challenge in a Developing World”

It was held at the University of Bari Aldo Moro, the 4th International Conference on Economic Statistics (ICES – SMEA 2026): “Statistical models for the economic transition: The new challenge in a developing world.”
The conference was organized by the SMEA group of the Società Italiana di Statistica, coordinated by Professor Rosalia Castellano, in collaboration with the University of Bari. The event saw broad participation from members of the Statistics groups of DISAQ and DISEG.
Over the two-day conference, participants engaged in discussions on how Economic Statistics can support research and the analysis of global transformations, ranging from changes in production processes and socio-demographic balances to the effects of climate change.
Among the most significant contributions was the keynote lecture delivered by Engin Kara of Cardiff University, focusing on the informational value of consumer price microdata. Another highlight was the plenary session dedicated to the relationship between official statistics and economic statistics, organized as part of the centenary celebrations of the ISTAT.
The conference also benefited from the contributions of numerous distinguished representatives from national and local institutions, including Banca d’Italia, Camera di Commercio di Bari, Unioncamere, the Comune di Bari, the Ministero dell’Economia e delle Finanze, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, and the Istituto Guglielmo Tagliacarne. Their interventions enriched the debate and fostered constructive dialogue between academia and policymakers on the key issues shaping the economic transition.
