The “Staff Week – Sustainable Finance” came to an end on 14 February, following a three-day programme organised as part of the SEA-EU Alliance.
The initiative was organised by the faculty members of Financial Intermediaries Economics at our Department and brought together SEA-EU faculty members for a series of teaching sessions exploring some of the most current issues in sustainable finance.
The first day opened with a contribution by Prof. Claudio Porzio, who also introduced the FinClimate Lab, followed by presentations from Prof. Gabriele Sampagnaro, Prof. Belinda Laura Del Gaudio, Prof. Dario Salerno and Prof. Francesca Battaglia.
Their contributions focused on the application of sustainable finance principles, offering insights into ESG regulation, market information transparency and risk management from a precautionary perspective.
On 13 February, the programme continued with contributions from Prof. Maria Grazia Starita, Prof. Vincenzo Verdoliva and Prof. Gian Paolo Stella, exploring the connections between finance and climate-related variables. On the same day, Prof. Daniele Previtali provided an overview of “Fintech and Financial Inclusion”, introducing the Naples Fintech Lab.
The three-day programme concluded with a workshop held at Villa Doria d’Angri. Experts and representatives from international institutions came together to discuss future perspectives for balancing financial, environmental and social resources, as well as opportunities for further collaboration within the SEA-EU network in the coming months.
The Staff Week provided an opportunity for academic exchange and discussion around some of the most relevant challenges currently shaping the future of sustainable finance.
